the girl behind the camera
Hello! My name is Micayla. I am 23 years old, an undergraduate theology student, and a part-time photographer. When I was in high school, I started taking photos of nature just for fun, but what began as a mere hobby transformed into my favorite thing ever.
My Catholic faith is the most important part of my life and it is my greatest joy to have the opportunity of bringing that into my work of capturing God’s creation. I love to travel and when I am not taking photos of people, you will be sure to find me taking photos of landscapes, sunsets, architecture, cathedrals, etc.
During the rare occassion that I do not have a camera in my hand, I love taking walks on the beach, reading, dancing in the rain, and embracing every moment.
Life is a gift, and the Giver is good.
With joy,
Micayla Mary

under the patronage of Saint Pope John Paul II
In a society that celebrates hook-up culture and devalues the Sacrament of Marriage, Saint Pope John Paul II reminds us of the dignity of marriage as a lifelong covenant of man and woman joined together by God.
As a theology student, I have a great love and passion for Saint Pope John Paul II’s teachings on the Theology of the Body. JPII was greatly influential in promoting teachings on the dignity of the human person, the Sacrament of Marriage, and the family. His teachings have had a profound impact on my life and have inspired me to capture the beauty of marriage as a Catholic wedding photographer. I pray often for his intercession not only in my life, but especially in my work of capturing the Sacrament.
“Do not forget that true love sets no conditions. It does not calculate or complain, but simply loves.”
- Saint Pope John Paul II
